What is a library worth?

What is your library worth?

Have you ever asked yourself this question or even pondered the thought? To a child walking into Youth Services, it must be priceless. Although they may not understand the value of a dollar, it is the one place where the possibilities seem endless and books unlimited. To an adult, it may be that they can check out as many books, videos or cd’s and not have to worry about money being exchanged. It may even be the many book discussions, the use of a computer, or just sitting by the fire place to read. These are just a few things of what make a library great. This is what makes the Geneva Library the place to be and so valuable to those who use it.

How much would your last visit to the library have cost at a bookstore? It can be easily estimated. The average adult hardcover book cost $25, a children’s hardcover cost $15 and a video or cd cost $15.
